Short Walk

A leisurely 4-mile walk in Sutton Park. Starting from the carpark near Blackroot Bistro, we
walked along the side of Blackroot Pool, through the woods to Bracebridge. Then across the
dam, over the railway and through Darnel Hurst, across the Arena to the Golf course.
After crossing the fairway, we went through open woodland to the top of the Longmore
Valley, where we picked up Lord Donegal's Ride and followed it to the Jamboree Stone, where
we all met at 11.00 for complimentary mince pies and a wee dram, courtesy of Ken Bratton. Finally, we dropped down through Lower Nut
Hurst to our cars.

 Longer Walk

A 5.5-mile circular walk. Starting from Wyndley Car Park at 09:00, we walked, in
an anti-clockwise direction, from to Park House, The Bistro, Blackroot Pool, under the
railway line and to the north part of the park near to Streetly Lane. Here, we headed W to
Streetly Gate, then S along parts of the Roman Road to turn E along Lord Donegal’s Ride,
and finally to head NE to our Mince Pie gathering at The Jamboree Stone at 
11:00.
