Sutton Coldfield Ramblers

Approximately seven-mile walk. Starting at Hanbury Memorial Hall in Hanbury.

Starting at the Hanbury Memorial Hall we go along Anslow Road to the Cock Inn public house and turn right onto a path, then along the path past Brawn’s Coppice toward the Gypsum Works. Continue along the path towards Fauld Industrial Park. Here is the perfect spot for a coffee break at there are suitable places to sit.

After the short break, we continue along country paths heading towards Tutbury. When we arrive in Tutbury, we go past a church that is a perfect stop for lunch as there are benches in the grounds.

Tutbury Castle would have been a perfect place to visit and have a look around this very historic site, but unfortunately it is closed so we will not be able to visit it.

After lunch we get back on the footpath heading towards Castle Hays Park Farm and then on towards Hare Holes Farm. From there we go up to the Fauld Crater, site of the largest non-nuclear explosion in Europe during the Second World War - lots of information on Google about it. After walking past the crater, we head back to Hanbury past the Cock Inn Public House and to Hanbury Memorial Hall.

Please be aware that the walk has several stiles along the way.
