On 20th October 2025 a new greenway between Lichfield and Chasewater was opened on the track bed of the South Staffordshire railway. Leaving Lichfield,   the path follows the track for about 3 miles  until turning off into Hammerwich. It heads  back over fields and lanes towards Lichfield. There are approximately 4 stiles.

Local public toilets are available at the start of the walk, if needed.
